🎯 Role Overview – Logistics & Customs Specialist (Abu Dhabi)
The Logistics & Customs Specialist will oversee and manage transportation flows, customs compliance, and trade documentation to ensure seamless, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods. The role requires strong coordination with internal teams, freight partners, carriers, and suppliers to maintain service excellence and meet project KPIs.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
Logistics & Transport Operations
Coordinate with Project Managers to build supply chain forecasts and resolve bottlenecks
Manage exception handling including late deliveries, claims, and escalations
Prepare shipping documents aligned with LC requirements and ensure bank compliance
Communicate with carriers and resolve transport delays proactively
Oversee warehousing coordination, delivery documents, packing lists, and logistics records
Support GIT & GR/IR reconciliation and ensure supplier invoices are processed on time
Manage dangerous goods processes and ensure safety and regulatory compliance
Transport Purchasing
Plan and monitor inbound/outbound transport operations
Negotiate with carriers and freight forwarders for optimal cost and performance
Provide specifications for transport lanes and support cost-saving initiatives
Ensure compliance with international transport regulations
Performance Monitoring
Track OTDT, OTDS, OTDC performance and implement improvement plans
Conduct RCA for service gaps and ensure logistics data accuracy
Develop action plans to optimize lead time, flow efficiency, and cost control
🎓 Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Trade, or a related field
5–7 years of experience in logistics, customs, or supply chain management
Strong knowledge of SAP (CS & MM modules)
Solid understanding of customs laws, Incoterms, and import/export processes
Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills
Experience with transport procurement and logistics optimization
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management abilities
Ability to perform under pressure and work across markets and business units
